WELCOME TO KENMARE ATHLETIC CLUB


Kenmare Athletic Club reformed in 2009 after an absence of more than 10 years. We currently have 130 registered juvenile and master athletes. We compete in cross country, track and field events.
Outdoor training has now resumed and is currently held at the GAA Field Kenmare every Friday, from 7-8pm. All welcome. Annual membership of €20 is due for any new or returning members. There is no fee for outdoor sessions.
Kenmare Bridge Run – Our inaugural road race was held at 2pm on 11th February 2012. 150 adults and 40 walkers entered the 10km race and 145 children ran the 1 mile charity fun run for Ronald McDonald House and raised €1,225 euro in the process. Our AGM was held on Friday 20th January at 8pm in the GAA Hall. The following officers were elected. President: Sean Daly, Chairperson: Conor Daly, Secretary: Tessa Dennison, Treasurer: Tom Palmer, Assistant Treasurer: Sheila O’Sullivan, PRO: Majella Murphy.
Once again Kenmare were Juvenile Kerry County Cross Country Champions, winning the trophy for the second year running. Individual and team results will be posted over the next few weeks but in the meantime, congratulations to all the athletes who turned out and did their club proud. For pictures click here.

The Club had its best ever year at the County Championships on 12th and 13th May with over 40 athletes taking part. We won 4 gold, 8 silver and 11 bronze medals and 5 of our relay teams were in the top 3. For more details, click here.
Kenmare Athletic Club hosted its 3rd Primary School Sports on Thursday 17th May and there was a great turn out as usual. Finalists from the local event now go on to the county finals in Castleisland on Saturday 26th May.
Aodhan Coakley, Laura Hallissey and Rachel Hawker all won medals in the South Munster Colleges Track and Field and go on to the Muster Finals in CIT on 19th May.
