WELCOME TO KENMARE ATHLETIC CLUB


Kenmare Athletic Club reformed in 2009 after an absence of more than 10 years. We currently have 130 registered juvenile and master athletes. We compete in cross country, track and field events.
Kenmare Bridge Run – Our inaugural road race will be held at 2pm on 11th February 2012. Click here for more details including route map, race headquarters etc. Entry can be made online at www.runireland.com/events/kenmare-bridge-10km-run
Indoor training will start on Friday 13th January at the GAA Hall, from 7-8pm. All welcome. Annual membership of €20 is now due and there will also be a €2 fee per indoor session.
Our AGM will be held on Friday 20th January at 8pm in the GAA Hall and is open to all. Please come along, we promise to keep it short and sweet!
Once again Kenmare were Juvenile Kerry County Cross Country Champions, winning the trophy for the second year running. Individual and team results will be posted over the next few weeks but in the meantime, congratulations to all the athletes who turned out and did their club proud. For pictures click here.

Congratulations to our coach Jer McCarthy from Kilgarvan who won 2 medals at the Munster Masters Indoor Championships in Nenagh on Sunday 8th January. He was 1st in the mens O40 60m and 2nd in the mens O40 200m. A great achievement and something for all our young athletes to aspire to. He now goes on to represent the club at the All-Ireland Indoor Championships which are being held in Nenagh on Sunday 15th January.
The Kerry County Cross Country uneven age event that was held at Faungorths in Kenmare was a great success and thanks go to the O’Shea family for facilitating it. Several athletes have made it onto the Kerry inter county cross country relay teams which will be held in Beaufort on 15th January. They are Kaitlyn Moriary, Conor O’Brien, Ciaran O’Sullivan, Helena O’Sullivan and Mikaela Mulcahy. Rachel Hawker will run on the junior ladies team at the same event.
